CENTRAL SHINES
October 2021
A Note from the Principal
Dear Central Families:
Parent Teacher Conferences are October 13 and 14. Central Elementary will be scheduling parent-teacher conferences online this year to better accommodate our families.
To schedule your preferred time for a parent-teacher conference:
- Go to www.myconferencetime.com/central
- Scroll down and click on the name of your child’s teacher
- Select the desired date/time for your conference by clicking on “Sign Up”
- Submit the requested information
If you have more than one child attending our school, click on “Register for Multiple Conferences” and follow the prompts to schedule your children for several conferences. After you schedule a conference online, the date and time are reserved for you. If you entered your email address correctly, you will receive email confirmation of your conference.
If you are unable to sign up for a time and date online, please send a note with three preferred times and dates to your child’s teacher. Once we receive your note, we will attempt to schedule a conference for your desired date and time but cannot guarantee your top choices as time slots fill up quickly.
Thank you for your continued partnership with your child’s education!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Kuzinski

Halloween News
We will be celebrating Halloween with our students on Thursday, October 21st. Students should plan to wear their costumes to school. We will be planning activities throughout the day and students will celebrate with their classmates. Please look for more information from classroom teachers as to if they will be seeking any donations etc. for food/treats etc.
In consideration of student safety, enjoyment, and school policy, some reminders regarding costumes follow:
- Toy weapons are not allowed: this includes guns, knives, swords, pitchforks, laser swords, martial arts weapons, etc.
- Costumes depicting violence, blood, or scary creatures are not school appropriate
- Students will still need to wear their masks on this day for COVID protocol while at school
Although we will not have parent volunteers in the building on this day, families are welcome to attend our outdoor Halloween parade. Details can be found below. We hope to see you there!
Halloween Parade
Central families are welcome to attend the costume parade, weather permitting. If the weather is unfavorable, the parade will be cancelled. Spectators will line up along the sidewalk peninsula between the bus loop and parking lot. We kindly ask that everyone follow social distancing guidelines.
- 4th Grade Parade: 9:00 AM
- 3rd Grade Parade: 9:20 AM
- 1st Grade Parade: 9:40 AM
- 2nd Grade Parade: 10:00 AM
Parades will last approximately 10 minutes, so be sure to be on time!
Parent Drop Off and Pick Up
Parent drop-off and pick-up is running smoothly and we appreciate everyone's patience and cooperation! in the morning, it would be helpful if your child was ready with their backpack, mask, and unbuckled, ready to get out of the car to keep our line running smoothly. Also, great job on using our car signs. It certainly helps with our process. Kudos to all of our families!
As a reminder for student safety, please do not drop off your student and allow them to walk through the parking lot by themselves. Oftentimes, they are not tall enough for people to see them through their rearview mirrors. Also, they are children and aren't always looking for the dangers around them. Please help us keep your child safe by using our drop off lines or walking them all the way to our crosswalk.
