1/8/2021 NPS COVID-19 Update / Symptom Screener
January 2021 UPDATED SYMPTOM SCREENING TOOL AND REMINDER
It is critical that children are still screened at home EACH MORNING before coming to school. This process is what helps keep our students and staff safe in school and a primary contributor to allowing us to continue in-person learning for students.
The Wayne County Health Department has updated the COVID-19 Daily Symptom Screening Tool STUDENT (1.8.2021) to reflect the reflect the importance of not sending a child to school with a fever over 100.3 F with or without other symptoms and the CDC recommendation of a 10 day quarantine period for those without symptoms that are identified as close contacts to a positive COVID-19 case. It is important to continue to closely monitor your child for symptoms using this updated screener tool prior to sending your child to school. This continued effort by all parents will allow us to maintain a safe environment for all students and staff and support our ability to provide continued in-person learning for all students.

Mask Donation
We have received a 5-pack of masks for distribution to EVERY STUDENT and STAFF MEMBER, this includes ALL of our VIRTUAL STUDENTS from the Wayne County Health Department!
In-person students will receive their masks this week. Virtual students will receive their masks with their next scheduled pick-up.

Let’s Get Back to Saving!
We are excited to announce that Credit Union Deposit Days are back! We have worked with our friends at Community Financial Credit Union to offer a safe way for students to be able to save their money and follow the current school health and safety protocols.
For In-person Students:
*Students bring their deposit envelope to school and place them in the larger SCU envelope in their classroom.
*A member of the office staff will collect the SCU envelope from each classroom.
*A rep from Community Financial will pick up the deposit envelopes from the school office and take them
to the branch to be deposited into the student accounts.
*The student’s receipt and prize will be brought to the school the following day. They will be put in the appropriate teacher mailbox to be distributed to each student.
Virtual Students can make deposits as well!! If a virtual student would like to participate, they would need to drop off their deposit to the school office on the Deposit Day by 1:00 p.m.
Our first Student Credit Union deposit day will be Tuesday, January 12.
If your student is not already a member and would like to open a savings account at CFCU please visit the CFCU website for more information and to sign up.

Winchester Elementary Yearbooks are now available to order! Yearbooks are $17 each (plus the Balfour site adds a $1 handling fee per transaction). This includes shipping to the school and MI sales tax. Full details of how to order are in the attached file. The yearbook will include all Winchester students (in-person and virtual). Questions can be directed to winchestermiyearbook@gmail.com.
Submit Pictures for Yearbook
Please submit First Day of School pictures, Winchester PTA Drive-in Movie pictures, and any other school activity pictures (Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, Nuts About Science, etc.) for yearbook inclusion. Details of how to submit pictures are in the attached file. Images need to be high-resolution and in JPEG format.

We need and appreciate all picture submissions as these make up a large part of our yearbook each year. Please submit only high-resolution photos that are school related activities/clubs. We welcome pictures from in-person and virtual students.
7 Habits at Home
This week's 9 Habit challenge is Habit 4: Think Win-Win. Make a T-chart. On the left, record ideas about what makes a bad teammate. On the right, recorded ideas about what makes a good teammate. What kind of teammate do you think you are and why? Habit 7: Sharpen the Saw. Make a calendar for the week and log the time you go to bed and the time you wake up. Determine the amount of sleep you get each night.
Students are encouraged to share a photo of your completed activity or of your family working on the habit together! You can send your pictures to Mrs. Bush, School Social Worker @ bushje@northvilleschools.org or Mrs. Lindsay @ lindsayke@northvilleschools.org to be included in the morning announcements.
