Rocky Branch Bulletin
Newsletter for Parents - January 2021
Message from Laura Mason
The first half of the 20-21 school year has been very different than in years past. We have missed so many of our traditions: Parent Breakfasts, Musicals, Grandparent Lunches, STEAM Night, Thanksgiving Feast, iMoms/All Pro Dads Breakfasts, and of course our amazing Parent Volunteers.
However, in a time where the majority of schools in America are completely virtual, we are so fortunate that we will begin 2021 with 95% of our students having in person instruction. We understand there are some families who need to continue virtual learning, and appreciate that OCS provides that option.
Although we miss many of the opportunities to connect with our families, we are so thankful our RBES Rockets have the opportunity to:
- Socialize with peers
- Have a sense of normalcy during this time
We look forward to a successful second half of the year and appreciate the support from our families to make this happen.
At RBES we have remained diligent about keeping everyone safe. In the first half of the year. 1% of our students/staff have contracted the virus. We will continue to reinforce the measures which we know reduce the spread of Covid 19:
- Wearing of Masks
- Socially Distancing
- Washing Hands
The success we have had at RBES is in large part due to our families, and we appreciate all you are doing. Please continue to:
- Encourage your child to wear masks
- Keep your child home if they are sick
If your child has been exposed to a family or friend who has tested positive, you should contact Laura Mason. We follow the Georgia Department of Health Guidelines. Mrs. Mason can give guidance regarding your child and whether they should be quarantined.
Thank you for what you are doing to help keep RBES students safe and in school!

Thank you PTO and Parents!
RBES is blessed and grateful to our wonderful parents! In December the staff enjoyed surprises for the 12 days leading up to the holiday break. Four of these days our parents and PTO went above and beyond to show their appreciation to staff. They provided:
- Breakfast from Chick-Fil-A
- Lunch provided by Em's Kitchen
- Dessert Bar
- Gift Cards (Gift Card Giveaway each hour)
The staff enjoyed all the treats and more importantly the LOVE you showed them!
