ICCS Mission Statement:
PRINCIPAL'S CORNER
Dear ICCS families,
Tomorrow we will have our 8th Grade Mass and Commissioning. This is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate everything that our 8th Graders have learned and how they have grown during their time at ICCS. They are a wonderful blessing to our school community, and I look forward to seeing all the things that they will accomplish this year and beyond!
The leadership commissioning Mass sets the tone for the 8th Graders in their last year as students here. It is a wonderful opportunity for them to model the faith, virtues, and studiousness that they have learned and practiced throughout their time here at ICCS!
We can look to Jesus as a fantastic model of a leader who loves and serves. Everything that He did and does is for the good of others out of a profound love for them. This fits wonderfully with our theme for this year, “We love because He first loved us.” My prayer for our 8th Grade class is that they can model the Lord’s love in their leadership at our school to help it to continue to grow and thrive.
We look forward to seeing you via live stream at Mass! Just click this link: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/87179500595?pwd=RU1nMkRyd2hKQkROakxxUGNWaWZtZz09 and enter the password 1536 when prompted.

GIFT CARD DONATIONS STILL NEEDED
“This was how we spoke to them, not with words but with our hands and our actions…any other language would have proved utterly useless.” -St. Peter Claver
ICCS is continuing to collect gift cards in any amount ($5 or more) for Hurricane Ida victims in Southeast Louisiana. The gift cards will be donated to the St. Gregory Catholic School community in Houma, Louisiana. The St. Gregory School, located at 441 Sixth Street in Houma, is part of the Diocese of Houma-Thibodeaux. The school remains closed until further notice while damages are assessed and repairs are being made.
Let's Return the Favor
As some may recall, the St. Gregory School administration, teachers and students reached out to ICCS last school year following Hurricane Laura. They offered their support and prayers for our school community during our time of need. We hope to return the act of love and faith by offering our assistance and encouragement.
If your family would like to donate a gift card for a needy St. Gregory School family or faculty member, please send it to school with your student before Friday, September 24. ICCS teachers are continuing to collect gift cards during homeroom periods each morning. To date, eight gift cards have been donated. Gift card suggestions include: Walmart, Target, home improvement stores, Amazon, clothing stores, fast food restaurants and Visa gift cards. We hope to gather more gift cards to send to the St. Gregory School team at the end of the month.
Pictured Below: Some of Mrs. Anita Falcon's 4th Grade Homeroom students helped display the gift cards we have received so far. All gift cards will be donated to families and faculty members in need at St. Gregory Catholic School in Houma, Louisiana.

ROSARY AROUND THE LAKE AND PARTIAL INDULGENCE
The fourth annual Rosary Around the Lake, organized by the Ruth Institute, will take place Sunday, October 3, beginning at 2 p.m. at the Lake Charles Civic Center. This year, Bishop Glen John Provost is granting a partial indulgence to the faithful who gather for the event to offer prayers for the Church, the nation, and the world. The partial indulgence for participation is in addition to the plenary indulgence granted to the faithful who devoutly recite the Marian rosary publicly.
"The family is under attack from all sides,” said Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse, founder of the Ruth Institute. "We know that we cannot achieve our mission of defending the family and building a civilization of love, without Divine Assistance. And who better to implore for help than the Mother of God herself."
Participants will meet in the area on the west side of the Civic Center and organize in groups of 11 to form a "Living Rosary." The organizer of each group will wear a gold T-shirt representing the “Lord’s Prayer,” with the team’s other 10 members in blue T-shirts representing the 10 “Hail Mary” beads. Anyone is welcome to attend either individually, with their family or a small group, or by organizing a “decade” of 10 people.
The Ruth Institute has sponsored Rosary Around the Lake in Lake Charles since 2018 as a way of praying for salvation and renewal for our world, our culture, our nation, our neighbors, and ourselves. To sign up online and learn more information, visit www.RosaryAroundTheLake.com.
