The fore limb of a human has the same bones as a whale and a crocodile, but the structures are not the same. Humans have a longer humerus and has a thumb because their function is to pick things up and hold objects. The whale has a function to swim so their fore arm is shaped like a fin to help them swim. A crocodile has longer phalanges and metacarpals because it's main function is to crawl. The fact that they all have the same structures but aren't the same is significant because it means that they have the same ancestors but they branched off over time to form new species.

Vestigial organs are structures when there are some organisms that have structures but aren't useful but useful in other species. How there are eyes on snakes but some snakes are blind. It's significant because their ancestors were the same but branched off to form new species.


Fossils show the changing representation of species overtime from simpler organisms to move complex in a development that reflects an evolutionary progression

This shows that fossils are evidence the theory of evolution is true


BIogeography is the study of the distribution of species and geography is the study of lands and its inhabitants.

There are two ways that help show changes in evolution over time, natural selection and changes in species

Biogeography shows how species have evolved over time and change in height weight etc.... This can help us discover how long evolution was ago and the affects it has on us so we can predict the future.

Examples of this are weaker animals are becoming extinct do to the process of evolution

Another example is scientist have discover animals and humans adapted to different environments
