Pipkin IB World School Navigator

Welcome Aboard!

Beginning our journey together

We are very excited to welcome you and your student to our Pipkin Pirate family! This newsletter is designed to help you navigate the waters of middle school events.

FIRST STOP: FUN!

Mark your calendars now for Family Fun Night on Friday, April 29th from 6-8 p.m. Enter at the Southeast Door facing Boonville and check in by the Pipkin Café to get your game tokens. Come and go as you please. There will be games in the sixth grade hall and a book fair in the library. Dinner will be served in the café while it lasts. This is a great opportunity for families of our 5th grade students to get to know Pipkin. Don't miss out! No RSVP necessary.

SECOND STOP: CHARTING YOUR COURSE/SCHEDULING CLASSES

Counselor Mr. Josh Seaman is in the process of visiting our feeder schools Boyd, Weaver, Weller, and York to talk with students about Pipkin and help them to schedule classes.

THIRD STOP: PIRATE DAY CAMP--Aug 4TH

X marks the spot for a special event not to be missed! The Pipkin Pirate Day Camp is designed to cut down the first day of school jitters. On this fun afternoon you will be greeted by faculty members dressed as pirates. We'll first gather in the gym for a mini pep rally then you will meet your teachers for fun icebreaker activities. Next comes a scavenger hunt where you will roam the halls as you answer clues on a treasure map. We'll have ice cream in the Café to learn how the lunch routine works. Next you'll get your schedules and practice moving from class to class. Finally you will get your lock and locker and be met by your family who will help you open it. You'll be all set for first day success!

Currently we are planning for 1:30 to 5:30. More details will be shared as available but be sure to save August 4th to sail into Pipkin to start your middle school adventure.
