DPS teachers and support staff, we hope you have a wonderful summer break full of rest and relaxation. Thank you for your hard work this school year. It was a success because of you and your dedication to our students. We will welcome you back in August!

Galileo student receives state honor for Microsoft test achievement
Kyla, an 11th grader at Galileo, scored the highest in Virginia on her Microsoft Word test and has been invited to represent the Commonwealth at the Microsoft Office Specialist U.S. National Championship. This will take place later this month in Orlando, Florida. Congratulations, Kyla!
Books for Kids at Grove Park
On Monday, each student at Grove Park Preschool received a brand new book to take home as a part of the Books for Kids program. Grove Park was sponsored by Davenport Energy and Mr. Ben Davenport represented the company and read a book to the students.

On June 6, Westwood held a celebration day for the end of the school year. They had a variety of activities such as a game room, tug of war, parachute, and many more game/sports.

On Tuesday, June 6, the EC classes at Westwood held an End of Year celebration with the students and their families. Everyone had a GREAT time!

Ruby B. Archie Passport to Reading Challenge
The community reading challenge continues!! Our community has read more than 15,000 books since March 2, but we still have a ways to go! Remember to keep reading and logging those books.
Participating is easy: just read a book and log it! Danville Public Schools students are able to access our logging software Beanstack through their Single Sign On portals. The community can log their books at readdanvilleva.beanstack.org.
