We hope to see you there, this event is one of our favorites!
During arrival and dismissal times we will have one entrance (Taylor Rd) and one exit (Harvest Moon). Once we re-pave, there will be two lanes when entering the property. Car-rider drop-off and pick-up vehicles will go to the middle lane and will be forced to go left and line up around the back of the building. Buses and daycare providers will enter the far right lane and will be forced to turn right into the loop around the flagpole. Essentially cars and buses are trading drop off zones. This will alleviate congestion in the parking lot as well as the traffic on Taylor Rd.
The district will also be adding sidewalks and curbs to our parking lot to ensure safety. Once we have dates we will share them via social media, and email. Thank you for your patience while we improve our arrival and dismissal procedures.
**Attendance Ohio HB 410**
Excessively Absent Status
a. Absent 38 hours in one school month, with or without a legitimate excuse: or
b. Absent 65 or more hours in one school year, with or without a legitimate excuse.
Only unexcused hours (including late arrivals, early dismissals and full day absences) count toward habitual truancy hours. If your child becomes Habitually Truant, the school is required by law to notify you in writing and invite you to meet with the school absence intervention team to develop an absence intervention plan for your child.
a. Absent 30 or more consecutive hours without a legitimate excuse;
b. Absent 42 or more hours in one month without a legitimate excuse; or
c. Absent 72 or more hours in one year without a legitimate excuse.
If absences or truancy does not improve within 60 days of the intervention plan the school will decide if truancy needs to be filed with Juvenile Court. If a student reaches 30 consecutive unexcused absences or 42 or more unexcused absences in a month the team is required by law to file truancy.
Please do your best to get your child to school each and everyday. Feel free to call us if there is a conflict that is preventing your child's attendance so that we may work to help you prior to your child hitting any of the triggers listed above.
Volunteer at Slate Ridge!
Volunteers make our schools great. Educators may call on you as parents to help supervise events or field trips; to read or practice math with individual students; or to help make any number of classroom activities more fun.
In Reynoldsburg, any volunteer who might supervise a student or group of students must have the same background checks as our employees. The background checks are conducted at the district office at no cost to you. Background checks are good for five years.
Our staff will take electronic fingerprints and send them off to the appropriate state and federal agencies. The process takes only a couple of minutes. If you are interested in volunteering, please click here to fill out an application and then visit our Welcome Center to provide fingerprints.
