Samuel Slater
and improved textile mills
Who was samuel slater and what did he do
Did you know how Samuel Slater improved our textile mills. He did by remembering the way that they were made, and illegally coming over here from Great Britain. He was a British mechanic that was disguised as a Scottish farmer coming to the US. When he did that he also remembered the way British mills were made. When he came here he wrote a letter to Moses Brown telling him that he could improve his mills. They opened a mill in Pawtucket Rhode island with the British way mills were made. His textile mills were a great success and people started copying the British way.
