Update----Return to In-Person Learning Delayed
I cannot believe that I am having to write this note right now after sending out an enthusiastic newsletter last week outlining our plans to reopen to in-person learning. If you have not already seen the notice from Superintendent Barry, we have to put the breaks on our plan to reopen on November 30th. We have a new target date of January 5th for Kinder-3rd grades. And January 11th for 4-5th grades. I am beyond sad about this but know that the decision was made with the safety of our families in mind. The county outbreak metrics continue to climb daily, causing us serious concern and worry. We will still be able to serve small groups of students in kindergarten and 1st grades through this week. Based on guidance from county officials, we may be able to add in other grade levels for these small group meetings after the Thanksgiving Holiday.
Again, I cannot say thank you enough times for your ongoing kindness and flexibility as we navigate this ever-changing situation. I know how hard this school closure has been on our families and students. We will continue to support you in any way we can over the coming few weeks. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you need anything. I will still host a parent Q & A on Thursday for those who have unanswered questions. See the link below if you want to pop in and chat.
Sending you all strength and lots of love,
Heather Lowe Rogers
