PRE-K News!
Juan Diego Academy April 26, 2016
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Dear Pre-K 3 Parents,
We are almost done with the month of April but we still have lots of activities planned.
This Friday we are celebrating “The Children’s Day” or “ Día de Los Niños” with our students. We also want to say “Thank you” to all the volunteers for helping us all year. The teachers will bring some healthy snacks, popsicles and candies for our students. We will provide the cupcakes and so much more fun.
We also want to ask if it is possible for you to drive and give permission to your child for our Field Trip to the zoo this coming Thursday May the 26th. If so, please send us or Sra. Farias an email A.S.A.P., due to the fact that we need to know how many people are purchasing a ticket. The zoo needs to know by May the 12th. We do not want to order a certain number of tickets without knowing if you and your child are attending. We will get stuck with $9.00 tickets that are non-refundable. Also let us know if your child will be going and needs a ride there and if your family has Zoo membership.
We still are requiring the green Hawaiian skirt for the last pending activity for our girls and the coconut top as well. Mrs. Farias spotted them at the Dollar Store on 38th Street. Get them before they are all gone.
This Saturday, April 30th, we will have the “Spring Fling” at Holy Rosary School. The cost will be 5.00 per person and $ 7.00 at the door. Children under 2 are free. Come and dance and watch the Lip Sync performances by parents and their students and TEACHERS!!!! Remember that our school needs your support and we can get together for a night of fun as well!!.
WHAT WE ARE LEARNING THIS WEEK
ORAL LANGUAGE/SCIENCE: This week our wonderful students are learning about the water cycle and how important water is in our lives. We have some experiments that will help our children can easily understand how the water cycle works.
MATH: We still are affirming the numbers from 1 to 10.
They are learning about the quantity, the number symbol and how to trace them. Singing, dancing and counting aloud are ways we use to learn our numbers.
We are learning a new letter : the “K”, (we are almost done with the alphabet). Our students now are tracing, singing, doing cutting and pasting activities with this new letter. We are working with our “Mother’s day” project as well. We will send out more details about this coming event next week.
RELIGION:
The students are learning more about the huge love that our Father has for us by giving us all the things that exist in our wonderful planet, like animals, water, nature, etc. We have the responsibility to take care of all these gifts as well.
We want to say “Thank you “ to all our parents who have helped their children to memorize the “Our Father” (Padre nuestro). They are doing an awesome job. We also are planning to say “El Padre Nuestro” every Tuesdays and Thursday at the office using the speakers (so everybody can hear them at school). They are very excited with this idea. Yaaeee.
If you have any question, please feel free to send us an email that we can respond ASAP. We accept any kind of new ideas or suggestions.
We hope you parents are having a wonderful week.
