Kraut Kvass, often referred to as Kraut Juice is a fermented beverage made from cabbage. It is tart, tangy, and its flavor very much resembles that of sauerkraut. It provides the same benefits of regular sauerkraut, but in a convenient liquid form that is much milder on the stomach. Loaded with nutrients and naturally occurring probiotics, it acts as a natural aid to digestion and assists the body's natural ability to heal many digestive and other health issues. It is highly recommended for those on GAPS diet. Ingredients: Purified Water, Organic Green Cabbage, Organic Apples, Himalayan Pink Salt

Awesome Sauce - Kimchi Brine

We made our awesome Kimchi and had lots of beautiful brine left after we packaged it. It is a thick, spicy and very flavorful brine that still has chunks of napa cabbage in it! It is absolutely delicious on rice, meats, eggs and just as a dipping sauce. It is also a wonderful soup base. Just like our Kimchi the sauce is living and vibrant, full of naturally occurring probiotics, never heated, and as with all of our ferments, its flavor continues to evolve with time. Ingredients: Napa Cabbage, Cucumbers*, Daikon Radish*, Scallions*, Apples*, Onions*, Garlic*, Ginger*, Rice Flour*, Himalayan Pink Salt, Gochugaru Red Pepper Flakes, Sugar* (*Organic)

Kimchi - Cucumber (Kimchi Style Pickles)

Our Kimchi is living and vibrant, never heated, and as with all of our ferments, the flavor continues to evolve with time. Wonderfully delicious right out of the jar, or on your favorite sandwich, salad or soup it is a delicious, nutritious addition to any meal! Ingredients: Cucumbers*, Scallions*, Apples*, Onions*, Garlic*, Ginger*, Rice Flour*, Himalayan Pink Salt, Gochugaru Red Pepper Flakes, Sugar* (*Organic)

Essential Oils are available in larger sizes

Essential Oils from Southern Essentials are available in larger sizes besides 1/2 ounces listed on the market. We only listed half ounces just so there are not 200 listings for essential oils. :-)

If you ever need a larger size (1 oz or larger) please contact Mark at southernessentials@live.com and he can quote you a price and we can add to your order.

FAQ: What's the difference between Certified Naturally Grown (CNG) vs. Organic, which is better?

Organic is awesome, but to sum it up, in my opinion CNG is better than Organic certified. Below is a good explanation why:

Tom Hedrick said:

"Organic certification is really a barrier to entry for most small farmers. From the Wikipedia article, “To be Certified Organic (as opposed to Certified Naturally Grown) in the US, a grower must keep detailed records of planting, cultivation, fertilization, harvest, and storage, and must pay for both organization membership and periodic inspection. This process works well for large-scale commercial growers, but becomes onerous for small mixed-agriculture farms. Since only certified seeds may be used, the varieties available to be grown are limited, and sustainable practices such as seed-saving is not permitted, unless the farmer also applies to be certified as a seed supplier.

Certified Naturally Grown farmers follow the USDA standards of the National Organic Program, but the record keeping and inspection process is tailored to accommodate the needs of small-scale mixed-agriculture farmers, and are not normally permitted to use the word “organic”. Farmers commit to act as inspectors. Farmer-Inspectors are uniquely qualified to observe and note whether their neighbors are sticking to the standards, and are encouraged to provide helpful feedback, which helps foster a sense of community and sharing. Inspection forms are posted on the Internet for anytime public access, and all farms are subject to random pesticide residue testing. All in all, the CNG procedure requires significantly less paperwork, yet arguably results in more transparency and fostering of better farming practices, than the Certified Organic process, which primarily depends on farmer declarations backed by copious paperwork, and which inspects the paperwork rather than the farm.”
