Hurricane Makeup Days

As you know, we missed 3 days of school recently due to Hurricane Irma. Because of this, please be aware that we will make up these days on the "snow days" which are scheduled into our school calendar. All Anderson 5 schools will have school on February 16th, March 30th, and June 8th (last day for students).

Flu Clinic

North Pointe will host the DHEC Flu Clinic for students to receive a flu shot on Monday, November 6th. This info was sent out by email on Friday. All registration will be completed online this year and the deadline for registering is Sunday, October 22nd. There is an attachment on the email with the details.

Red Ribbon Week

Red Ribbon Week will be October 23-27. Below is the schedule for the week!

Monday: WEAR RED DAY - cover yourself in RED - spirit is the KEY!

Tuesday: FUTURE DAY - the KEY to the future is knowing what you want to be when you grow up!

Wednesday: SUPER HERO DAY - be ready to be a HERO and dress like one - the KEY to helpfulness!

Thursday: CLASS CHOICE DAY - each class selects a surprise theme for their class! Teachers will let you know what the class theme is that day.

Friday: COLLEGE DAY - be cool, stay in school - the KEY to the future!

Author's Cafe!

Each nine weeks teachers will choose students who create pieces of exemplary writing to participate in our Author's Café. On Friday this week, students and their parents/families celebrated their work and worked together to create new pieces of writing! It was such a fun way to celebrate their accomplishments.

New Playground Structure!

Our new playground structure is complete and students began playing on it this week! They waited in line every day at recess like it was Disney World! Teachers have affectionately called it the "swirl of death" though no one has gotten sick yet. :) It's great to watch them enjoy this new addition! Thanks to parents who supported the PTO last year to make this happen!

October 30th: No School for Students

Teachers are working overtime to either speak with or meet with you to discuss your child's progress within the first nine weeks of school. October 30th is a Professional Development Day for teachers, so students will not come to school. Many of you could have conferences on that day. Thank you for partnering with us to make your child's year successful! We appreciate our parents so much.
