Math
Students continued working on their understanding of fractions. We worked on adding and subtracting mixed numbers. The students learned a variety of strategies for subtraction such as adding up and regrouping. We will continue with that as well as finding a fraction of a whole.
We started a new Calendar Grid which focuses on input and output. The students are working to find patterns.
We do daily Number Talks which enforce the math habits of being flexible, accurate and efficient. Currently we are working on multiplication strategies such as landmark numbers, halving and doubling and partial products.
