Message from the Middle School

April 8, 2016

Dear Parents,

By now you have heard our good news…we have completed our accreditation process successfully. Our visitors were very impressed with the sense of caring and community. You can read more details in our school newsletter. We are very proud. The team reaffirmed for us what we have always known, great teachers and great students make for a great school!

A big thank you to all of you who served on committees, came to be interviewed, and who always support our efforts, further evidence of our caring community.

Today is the last day of quarter 3. Monday we begin our last quarter, and you will be receiving report cards on Friday, April 15, 2016. This is a good time to take a look at how to make this last quarter a really great one. Please be sure that your seventh and eighth graders bring their P.E. uniforms daily. Students must change in order to participate. They will receive 0’s if they are not in uniform. We want each student to take full advantage of their opportunity to get full playing time.

Please continue to check Edline with your child to discuss grades and review missing assignments. Keeping up with work is so important for student success.

We are kicking off our Fourth quarter with Sprit Week. Each day is a different theme. Students can pay $4 on Monday for five days of theme clothes, or they can pay $1 per day.

Here are the themes:

  • Monday: Twin Day

  • Tuesday: Fictional Character

  • Wednesday: Wacky Day

  • Thursday: Throwback Day

  • Friday: Pajama Day

On Monday, April 11th the ninth grade counselor will be meeting all eighth graders to discuss the options for ninth grade. They will be bringing home course selection sheets.

Again, thank you for your support. Go Dragons!

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Middle School office 302-0032. We will keep you informed of items of interest.
