Hatching Chicks in the Classroom
While the eggs have been in the incubator we have been learning about their development and their life cycle. On Thursday, we began researching farms and factories to answer the question, "Would it be more responsible to send our chicks to an animal factory or an animal farm?" Below the students are reading Chickens in my Backyard to collect data. Later they will be asked to write their opinion and support it.
Monday, April 21st is the expected date for our chicks to begin hatching!
Word Study
Word study time continues to be a focus in our classroom. Recently we have learned…
- The phonogram "igh" says "long i" in a word.
- The prefix "un" means the "the opposite of or not" as in unpack.
- How to read and spell 4th quarter sight words.
Below the students are finding Easter eggs, opening, reading the sight word inside, and practicing spelling the word.
