What is The Great Barrier Reef?

The Great Barrier Reef is the largest living organism in the world. The Great Barrier Reef is one of the few world heritage site that can be seen from space. The Great Barrier Reef is compose of 900 island and was listed the 7 natural wonder of the world.

What animals that live in The Great Barrier Reef?

The Great Barrier Reef is home to 1,500 species of fish, 411 types of hard coral, one-third of the world’s soft corals, 134 species of sharks and rays, six of the world’s seven species of threatened marine turtles, more than 30 species of marine mammals and including the vulnerable dugong other wise know as the sea cow.

Human Impact on The Great Barrier Reef.

Scientist discovered that fisherman are ovefishing more than the ocean can take by reproducing the fish another human made disaster that is destroying the Great Barrier Reef is Pollution from factories and Coral Bleaching which will happen when the water temperatures rises by global warming all these will effect the future of looking at this magnificent reef.
