____________New Info & Reminders__________________
Terminx treatment this weekend-
Well....it's not crickets this time....it's the darn ants! Terminx will be here on Saturday to help us with our ant problem. Since the issue is bigger than expected, they will need to use a stronger chemical to tackle the ants. Sooooooo........ no one can work in the building this weekend (both Saturday and Sunday). Thank you!!
Doing the little things right and finishing strong--
Here we go.... 14 1/2 days of school left! I know as we get closer to the end and the weather gets warmer, it's so easy to loosen up on all of the little things that make our school run so smoothly. I'm asking that we all hold ourselves and teammates accountable for doing the little things right to ensure the BEST end to our FABULOUS school year.
Dismissal & Duties - please be on time and active; remind students of dismissal expectations, looking for their car and listening for their numbers; please help load kiddos into cars; Morning duties- please be on time, Thank you!!
Over communicate EOY events with parents- We've done great with weekly newsletters this year and keeping parents informed. YAY! Please over communicate all of our events. Keep in mind, many parents have kiddos at more than one campus.....that's A LOT to remember.
Honoring time- Start on time....end on time; Picking up & dropping off for CAMP and lunch on time; All teachers and students should be outside for dismissal no later than 2:45.
Parking lot- reminder: I ask that staff park in the east side parking lot (near cafeteria). Parent parking lot is the west side lot near Westgate. 3rd and 4th grade teachers may use the parent parking lot. Thank you so much!!
I'm sure I've missed something, but I know you get the idea here. Let's finish strong!! We've got this!!!! Yes, I have song for just about every event of the day.....here's your treat today: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k18G7bLrHYQ Enjoy!!!
Notes of encouragement for STAAR kiddos--
If you need more copies of the encouragement notes, please let us know. As you finish the awesome notes, please place them in the basket in the PLC room or in Tracy's box in the front office. THANK YOU so much for doing this!!! Kids are going to be thrilled to get a note from YOU!!
"Pass the Torch" Transition Conversation:
In an effort to ensure these conversations are meaningful and we all have the brain power to process this important information, we have decided to make time for this during our Back to School PD in August. With that being said, please don't feel like you can't have these conversations on your own time. We will just not be making time for these before we start summer on May 25th. ***As you are updating student data cards, please "flag" cards or simply make a small note of "see (your name) about this student" on the back for the 18-19 receiving teacher.
Storage Portable-- If you have anything personal in the storage portable OR need anything for your classroom, please make time to get with Wanda about getting in there. Anything not removed by May 24th will be collected by WISD Maintenance.
Please let me know if you have questions
Bring on the STAAR--
Dr. Bolen will be here Wednesday, May 9th to check classrooms to ensure we are good to go for STAAR. Please get with me or Tracy about questionable items in your classroom.
Progress Reports--
Term 4 grade due by 8:00 a.m. on May 21st
If you have questions, please see Lynda Maynard or Tammie Hogue. Thank you!
EOY MAP reports--
Marissa has graciously taken on the task of printing out all EOY MAP reports to send home with students. We will send these home with report cards at the end of the month. As of right now, I do not have an EOY MAP parent letter. Once we receive it, I'll make copies and get them to team leaders.
Thank you , Marissa!!!
