Message from the Principal
Hello Lake Families,
The walk-throughs with Cara, our CORE consultant, were really appreciated. She saw some wonderful phonics instruction happening and is developing a plan to support Lake with the next steps and Benchmark Phonics.
I want to give a HUGE shout-out to our student leaders who led our visit with the South Dakota educators and Dr. Olmstead. The visitors didn’t want to leave and are hoping to come back!
Our 5th-grade leaders (Lila, Desiree, Nico, Elise, Ollie, Madge, Connor, Alan, and Dilynn) represented Lake so well, gave tours of the school, and debriefed about the Learner Portrait attributes that they have gained through their experiences here at Lake. Our 3rd-grade leaders (Hudson, Lucas, Ruby, Aubrey, JJ, and Tori) and 4th-grade leaders (Lena, Olivia, Roxy, and Nolan) also shone brightly by greeting our visitors and showcasing their experiences inside their classrooms.
These student leaders shared the Learner Portrait attributes that they feel strong in and also those they are continuing to grow in. They loved bragging about all of the wonderful things happening in their classrooms and at Lake. The visit culminated with our 5th-grade leaders and visitors in a Q&A debrief. I was so proud of our Dolphins as they answered many questions, weaving authentic JOY through their answers about PBIS, Dolphin Broadcast, and Project-Based Learning. What a MAGNIFICENT school we have! These kids are the evidence, and YOU ALL are the catalysts! Thank you for all you do to make Lake such a GREAT place to learn!
