ETA - "Unleash Your Genius" - Video
This is ETA!
Engineering & Technologies Academy (ETA) is located at Roosevelt High School. ETA provides a specialized curriculum with rigor and relevance for students seeking a future in Engineering, Cyber Security, Advance Manufacturing (Robotics) and Graphic Design. In addition, ETA students are prepared for attaining Industry-Based Certifications related to these fields of study. Students at ETA also enjoy the opportunity to get involved and compete year-round in CyberPatriots, Robotics, Rocketry and with the (TSA) Technology Student Association competitions up to the national level. ETA believes in the added value of advanced placement coursework where students are strongly encouraged to graduate at the Distinguished Level with as many certifications as they are able to achieve. ETA offers a hands-on, problem-based learning environment where they continually are faced with solving real-world problems using the most current methods, modalities and technologies available. These skill sets guide our magnet students into becoming very adept problem solvers with excellent critical thinking skills.
ETA Front Office Team
Mr. Robert Lozano - ETA Director
We hope you have been having an outstanding year and are already thinking about next year. We have heard some amazing things about the current KSAT eighth grade class and we look forward to meeting you very soon, whether in-person or virtually. ETA commends you for challenging yourselves academically where most of you are currently taking Algebra I and other Honors courses prior to high school. Although the pandemic has made this year very different, we have continued to offer rigorous advanced TR core courses in conjunction with very specialized pathways in the area of Engineering, Advanced Manufacturing/Robotics and Design & Multimedia Design.. In addition, we have held some fun events for our students and are planning several more. One of the unique things about being in the KSAT program is that you have the opportunity to reserve your seat at the ETA at Roosevelt without having to complete the full NEISD magnet application (please fill out the form provided at the bottom of this newsletter). As long as you successfully complete the KSAT requirements, you can automatically continue through this 9-12 pathway at ETA. To help us plan for your arrival, we would ask that you please fill out this form as soon as possible to let us know of your intention for next year.
Thank you for responding to this KSAT Google form before January 29 to reserve your spot.
Best Regards,
Robert Lozano
ETA Director

Ms. Magdalena Lopez - ETA Counselor
Hello 8th Grade Students and Parents,
This is my 14th year serving as a school counselor but my very first one serving as the counselor for our ETA students at Roosevelt High School. It is truly an honor to work with such a dedicated and caring group of educators and with outstanding students that are strong leaders in and out of the classroom.
As your future ETA Counselor, I will be meeting with you to review graduation requirements, ETA pathways and endorsements, and your four-year plan. As a student at Roosevelt High School you will have many opportunities to earn college credit while in high school and participate in a wide variety of extra-curricular activities including band, athletics, cheer, JROTC and many more. ETA will give you a strong foundation to be prepared for your post-secondary plans. Many of our students graduate at the top of their class and go on to attend competitive universities. Last year, the ETA class of 2020 was awarded over $4, 000,000 in scholarships and financial aid!
We are looking forward to having you as a part of our freshman class next year. If you have friends that would love to come to ETA at Roosevelt High School next year and they are not currently in KSAT at Krueger MS (as we accept qualifying students who live outside of our district), please encourage them to apply! Feel free to share THIS APPLICATION with them and encourage them to join our creative family. If I can support you as you transition to high school, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
Best Regards,
Magdalena Lopez
ETA Counselor
