Dear Families,
As we near the end of Trimester 1, I would like to thank each and every one of you for supporting your child during virtual learning. Everyday I am so impressed by the collaboration between the parents and teachers to make sure students are continuing to learn and grow while at home. I am looking forward to the day when we can finally be together at El Sol as a family again. Enclosed in this newsletter are some very important updates and upcoming events that you will want to know about, especially in regards to Trimester II.
Sincerely,
Dr. Wilson
Trimester II Begins November 30th!
- Please note: Starting November 30th, we will have adjusted building office hours from 8:00am - 4:00 pm. After 4:00 pm, you can feel free to email office staff or your child's teacher with any questions.
- We will be welcoming back 27 El Sol students from option 2a to option 1! Because of this change, we are also welcoming Mr. Diaz to option one as a 2nd grade teacher. This will help keep class sizes small, which will benefit every child.

Trimester II Schedule Adjustments
Changes in grades K-5 include the following:
- The first instructional block will take place from 9:30 - 10:40 am.
- The second instructional block will take place from 10:50 - 12:00 pm.
- There will be a one hour break from 12:00 - 1:00 pm, with small groups starting after 1:00.
- Teachers' office hours will be on Wednesdays from 3:30 - 4:00 am.
- There will be "Reach and Teach" Opportunities on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday after 3:00 for teachers to provide additional student support to individuals or small groups.
- Teachers will have time built into their day twice a week to conduct self-directed learning to enhance their already amazing skills for virtual instruction.
- Students in grades K-3 will still maintain their A and B groups
- Teachers have been asked to work in more practice time during class to make sure they are present to help students, and to reduce or eliminate homework.
Teachers are working hard on their classroom schedules and will be sending them out to families by Tuesday.
Did I mention how amazing El Sol teachers are at virtual instruction? They work miracles on that screen. I see students doing movement, interactive online activities, games, songs, breakout groups, and so much more! I am thankful for such a talented staff.
