MJT Families:
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
I hope you all enjoyed your holiday and change of pace this past week. As we transition to a new year, we continue to adjust to the current times. As we look upon the past few years, they have been far from typical. We will continue to educate our students whether it is in-person or remotely, due to a formal quarantine situation. Our students truly have come so far and have worked through many different situations the world has presented. We are proud of our children, faculty/staff and families for continuing to persevere. We look forward to a productive rest of the school year.
A few items to note:
- PBIS/Expected Behaviors/Code of Conduct: We, at MJT, have recalibrated our Code of Conduct and our PBIS Expectations to align with the unprecedented current times. This information was mailed home to you over the break. If you did not receive a copy, please contact our office and we can provide one to you.
- Thank you PTO for the Scholastic Book Fair.
- No School-Monday, January 17-Martin Luther King, Jr. Day
- MId-Year iReady Testing will begin on January 18.
- Grade 3 NYS Testing "Simulation" will occur next week. This is a practice for the actual assessments that will take place later this school year. It is computer-based.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out.
Most Sincerely,
Paul

(Repeated information) SAFETY:
- Only students who are under an official order to quarantine by the county/state may receive remote instruction. A Google link will be sent to families from the teacher. You can also arrange to pick up any materials that may be needed for instruction by contacting your child's teacher.
- We are limiting outside guests from the building.
- If a student is excluded from school, you will receive a phone call after we complete the contact tracing ASAP with details. The county officially orders the quarantine and the return date.
Mask Use
Masks are required by Commissioner's regulations -- which are the rules schools must follow: "all students, personnel, teachers, administrators, contractors, and visitors must wear masks at all times indoors, regardless of vaccination status."
Masks are required to be worn whenever students/staff are moving outside on school grounds where 6ft distance can not be maintained. This includes arrival and dismissal since our student groups tend to move into smaller groups of students as they enter or leave. Once off campus, students do not need to wear masks.
Students may remove masks if they are receiving nutrition/nourishment.
