Ocean food web
Ocean food web
My food web starts with my 3 producers, kelp, a phytoplankton, and a zooplankton. The primary consumers , a krill, cod, and squid, then get energy from the producers causing its secondary consumers, a penguin, leopard seal, and an elephant seal to get energy from it too. The teritiary consumer is the killer whale. No other sea creature can eat it. And lastly, we have our decomposers, bacteria and fungi. Decomposers are an important component of ocean ecosystem. They break down dead organisms and release nutrients from these organisms back into the ocean.
Symbiotic Relationships
Mutualism
Both partners benefit.
Commensalism
Only one species benefits while the other is neither helped or harmed.
Parasitism
Only one benefits while the other is harmed.
Ways humans are impacting the environment
Humans impact the environment in many ways. They can be good or bad. The positive ways we impact the environment is by cleaning the environment, stop polluting the ocean and helping endangered animals. Believe I or not, humans also impact the environment in a negative way. They cause water pollution that are caused by human activities like traveling.
Roles in my food web
Producer , Primary Consumer & Secondary Consumer.
Kelp
This is the producer of my food web, it creates its own food & is later is consumed by its consumer.
Cod
This is the primary consumer of my food web, it is the first to receive energy . The fish is then consumed by its secondary consumer.
Leopard seal
This is the secondary consumer to my food web. It's the second to receive energy from the producer ( kelp) .
