January 2023
Hello Hurricane Family,
Welcome back and Happy New Year! I hope that everyone was able to enjoy the holiday break and that the first part of 2023 has been good to you. Things here at Klein Cain have been busy to say the least. We have had our students involved in so many things over the break, and since we have returned from Winter Break, and they are representing us so well! It is so refreshing to see our CAT 5 Core Values of Collaboration, Risk-Taking, Integrity, Passion and Problem-Solving come to life in the classrooms, on stage, in the pool, on the court, on the field and in various competitions.
The successes we have had are solely due to the amazing leadership, dedication and passion exhibited by our students. They have used their desire to be forever learners and their pride to be a Klein Cain Hurricane as catalysts for amazing outcomes. As a parent myself, I can honestly say that when my son enters high school, if he acts, serves others, competes and carries himself with half the amount of integrity, character, passion, respect, self-confidence and dedication that our current Hurricanes possess, I will be one proud mom! Thank you for allowing your students to share their talents with us, and for allowing them to serve as some amazing role models for the future Hurricanes to come.
The Spring Semester is always hectic and busy! Make sure that you stay up to date with all we have going on this semester. There is always something to do and always a chance for you to support the Klein Cain Hurricanes!
Reign Cain,
Nicole Patin

Orchestra
Congratulations to Aneesh Vathul (11th Grade), for placing in the TMEA All-State Orchestras for the third consecutive year! This is an honor that is only awarded to the top 2.5% of high school musicians in the state of Texas. Students are selected by competitive audition for which they begin preparing in May of the previous school year. This year, Aneesh ranked 4th in the entire state on cello! Aneesh will perform in the All-State Symphony Orchestra in San Antonio during the TMEA Convention in February. We are so proud of his accomplishment!
Klein Cain Boys Basketball
The district games started and all teams won against Klein Forest on Dec. 31. The teams will be playing every Wednesday and Saturday for the first round and then Tuesday and Friday. Hope everyone can make it out to support the student athletes. The Boys Varsity Basketball team won the Houston ISD Gold Division and 2nd place at the New Caney/Porter Christmas Classic tournament over the holiday.
Wrestling
Another great season is underway. Of 22 Varsity wrestlers, 15 are Academic All-District.
Of the 38 Sub-Varsity wrestlers, all are academically eligible.
Both Klein Cain Boys and Girls Wrestling are state-ranked and continue to do well.
