What's Going on in Media This Month?
- Kindergarten students are identifying key details in fiction and nonfiction text.
- 1st graders are exploring different animal habitats through fiction and nonfiction text.
- 2nd graders are listening and summarizing the One and Only Ivan to further explore their PBL question: Should there be zoos?
- 3rd graders visited the library to explore the mystery genre through hands-on learning.
Read Across America Week!
Our school will be celebrating Read Across America Day with a week long literacy celebration. See below for each day's theme and for some great resources to use in the classroom!
March 1st- Fox in Socks day: wear those crazy socks!
March 2nd- Cat in the Hat day: wear any kind of hat!
March 3rd- Wocket in my Pocket day: wear as many pockets as you can!
March 4th- I am NOT Going to Get Up Today: wear your pajamas to school!
While Read Across America Day occurs on Dr. Seuss' birthday, the mission of this celebration is to GET STUDENTS READING! Take time to celebrate any and all authors/books with your students!
