"Embrace the Danger of New Ideas!" - Idea Fest Kids Day

TAG Creativity students from both East and West Middle Schools attended the Idea Fest in Louisville on Thursday, Sept. 29. Students listened to leading creative and innovative professionals at the conference for kids. Students were introduced to a Flying Eye Hospital that provides eye surgery for millions of people around the world, how experiments in space provide solutions on Earth, and looking at education with “new eyes”! Virtual eyes, that is, as they explored “education as destination” and the reality afforded to learning virtually. Students participated in hands-on activities to stimulate problem-solving and teamwork. To the excitement of all, each student received a Virtual Reality Google Cardboard to take home that works with cell phones. Students were also given the opportunity to explore the Kentucky Science center exhibits.

KYA - Kentucky Youth Assembly

Final payment will be due by Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2016.

Parent/Student Meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 25 at 6:30 PM in the West Middle School library.

Students have been working hard on their bill topics and conducting research on them. Each student will contribute to the bill writing process either as an author or a researcher. We will also be debating bills to hone our skills in presenting a well developed argument for or against an idea. We use the criteria of creativity, importance, debatability, and feasibility to think critically about all bill ideas.

Gifted Student Service Plans - GSSPs

I have completed a GSSP on all TAG students. If you haven't had a chance to review and sign your child's GSSP, please drop me an email. We can do this via conference or snail mail.
