This year, a note from your health care provider and/or documentation of a negative COVID test will be required for return to school after most illnesses. We are grateful for your extra caution and efforts—thank you!
NOTIFICATION QUESTIONS ANSWERED
There have been some questions about the email notifications sent when a positive COVID case is identified in our building. There are 3 different types of notifications. You may receive 1, 2 or all three notifications. Notifications are sent to the email address on file for your student.
The GENERAL NOTIFICATION is sent to all staff and students present during the time a positive person was on campus--48 hours before symptoms began, or before a positive test, if there are no symptoms. This letter advises continued best practices, which include monitoring for symptoms and mask wearing.
The CLASSROOM NOTIFICATION is sent to any student who is determined to have been in the same room with an ill person during the infectious period. This may be in the classroom, at specials, during a special service, or on the bus. This letter advises these students that they may continue to participate in school activities while wearing a mask, except when eating or drinking.
The CLOSE CONTACT NOTIFICATION is sent to those who have been determined to be 'close contacts'. This may be due to physical contact, close proximity, masks not worn, or other factors. In most cases, a phone call is made to the family before the letter is sent. Close contacts are required to quarantine (stay home from school) for 14 days after the last day of exposure. Students may continue remote learning during this time and will not be counted absent if they are participating in virtual instruction.
All notifications include links to CDC information regarding safe health practices.
The Conroe ISD homepage includes a COVID-19 dashboard and information included in our Roadmap to Reopening, where you may find answers to many of your questions. As always, please contact the clinic if you have questions or concerns.

HOLIDAY STAFF APPRECIATION INFORMATION FROM OUR GRADE LEVEL LIAISON
With the holidays coming, I have been asked how people can show appreciation to the teachers and staff this year. Teachers love handmade cards, handwritten letters, air hi-fives, and smiling eyes from their students. If your family would like to send in a little something special such as a gift card or gift (no more than $50 per person) for our teachers, you are more than welcome to. Please remember, all gifts are strictly voluntary.
If you would like a copy of your teacher's "Favorite Things," please email me at: email@example.com.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask.
