Monk Fryston Weekly News 15.7.22

School target for next week is;

Remember to have fun.

Pupil Reports

You should receive your child’s report by email today – if you do not receive it please contact the office. We hope that this provides a useful reflection on their learning this year and prepares them for next year. We would welcome feedback to show that you received the report.

Staff Acknowledgement.

We hope that you feel your child has had a successful year in their current class. Staff have worked extremely hard to make sure that this is the case for everyone. If you could find a minute to send just one member of staff a message acknowledging their efforts during this academic year, I know it would make their day. You can do this personally or through our staff shout outs.

We are preparing for a heat wave next week. To help children to keep cool, we will allow them to come to school in their PE kits if this is cooler than their normal uniform. They should also have sun cream on and have a hat and water at all times. We will adjust our timings and activities during the day in line with the weather.

School Meals

Please be aware there will be an increase in the school meal prices from September. These are expected to rise to £2.50 per day, making the weekly amount £12.50. We have lots of exciting information regarding the new school meals which we hope to share with you very soon.

New staff members.

We would like to extend a warm welcome to two new members of staff who started with us this week. Mrs Sowersby is working in Year 1 and Mrs Howard in Year 6.

Leavers Service 19.7.22

The Leaver’s Service will take place in church on Tuesday 19th July at 9.30am. Parents are most welcome to attend, but please be aware that the school will take the majority of seating and parents may have to stand at the back of the church.

PTA Film Night.

Thank you to the PTA for organising the film night last Friday, and to everyone who attended. It was a lovely family occasion and we raised about £180 for our school.

Vacancies in School.

Have you ever considered working in school? Or do you know someone who might be interested. We currently have vacancies in both schools. Working days and hours can be flexible. We are also exploring the possibility of training as an apprenticeship for teaching assistants. If you would like to discuss this further please speak to Mr Weights.

Summer Holidays

We would like to confirm that children will break up on Friday 22nd July. Monday 25th July is a training day so school is closed to pupils. For any future dates/events please check the calendar on our website.

PTA AGM 22.9.22

The PTA AGM will be held in school on 22nd September 2022. Wine and nibbles will be provided, so please come along and find out what we do.
