Registered nurses, or RNs, averaged $33.23 per hour, or $69,110 per year, as of May 2011, states the Bureau of Labor Statistics. High salaries ranged from above $46.46 per hour, or $96,630 per year, but could fall to less than $21.62 per hour, or $44,970 per year.

Education Requirements

There are generally three educational approaches to becoming a RN. RNs usually train by completing a bachelor's or associate's degree program in nursing. Less commonly, RNs prepare for the occupation by earning a diploma in nursing. Graduates of any of these programs are generally eligible for licensure and entry-level employment as RNs.

Job Outlook

The projected 10 year growth for nurse is 19%. The demand for nurses is high right now, so if you are looking into going into the nursing careers, it will be more than likely quite easy to get into.
