Mount Vesuvius, on the west coast of italy. It it known for it's eruption in A.D 79 that destroyed the city of Pompeii.

Mount Vesuvius erupted on August 24, AD 79.
Cause of Eruption
The eruption was triggered by a foreboding of a series of violent earthquakes.

Only the territory in italy called Campania was affected by the 79 eruption of Vesuvius. You see, there were no countries in the area at the time. It was all the Roman Empire.
