We are so proud of our girls in 3rd-6th grades who participated in Girls on the Run at Weber this season!

Girls on the Run inspires girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running. Over the 10-week season, girls explored and discussed their own beliefs around experiences and challenges girls face at this age and developed strategies and skills to help them navigate life experiences. Through it, they also made new friends, built their confidence and celebrated all that makes them unique. Physical activity is woven into the program to inspire an appreciation of fitness and to build habits that lead to a lifetime of health. The girls participated in the Girls on the Run 5K in Iowa City on April 27th. This celebratory, non-competitive event is the culminating experience of the curriculum. Crossing the finish line is a defining moment when the girls realize that even the seemingly impossible IS possible.

Fall season will begin the week of September 2nd. Practices are led by volunteer, trained coaches, who have all successfully completed a background check. Weber is looking for additional coaches to ensure that our girls will have an opportunity to participate in this transformative program next season. Learn more and register as a coach at or contact Girls on the Run at
