ROOM PARENTS NEEDED FOR 2023-2024 SCHOOL YEAR
The room parent committee is now collecting names for room parents for the 2023-2024 school year! Each teacher will have two room parents. **Room parents will be required to attend an evening informational meeting in August and Open House. Room parent responsibilities include collecting money for classroom parties and teacher gifts, coordinating volunteers, and serving as classroom liaison, which includes communicating with the teacher and class parents. Room Parents will be assigned in August the week before school starts once class lists are communicated.
Please e-mail Mindy Kallsnick- mkallsnick@gmail.com with the name and grade of your child next year, and include YOUR name, email, and phone number If you have multiple children at Walden, please list all grades and preference. We try to place you in your preferred child's classroom, but understand this is not always possible. Thank you!
If you ordered a 2022-2023 Walden yearbook, it was distributed to your child at school this week. Please check your child's bag and email

If you didn't order, we have a limited amount of extra yearbooks to purchase - please email WaldenElementaryYearbook@gmail.com. For all other questions or to report a damaged yearbook, please email WaldenElementaryYearbook@gmail.com by the end of the week.
Also, congratulations to our Walden Yearbook cover contest winners! The 5th Graders voted and selected the winning cover. A huge thanks to all of the 5th Graders who submitted covers.
WELCOMING COMMITTEE
The Walden PTO is continuing to offer a Welcoming Committee for families new to Walden School. The committee will match up new families with mentor families who will serve as a guide to "all things Walden" (PTO and Walden activities, programming, and community events). Please reach out to Allie Zalay (allie.zalay@gmail.com) or Nikki Wallenstein (nsschneider@hotmail.com) if you are interested in being matched up with a mentor family!
PTO MEETING
The final PTO meeting will be on Thursday, June 8 at 6:00 PM at Walden.
The 5th graders had some amazing end of year celebrations! The 5th grade party was amazing and the picnic was so much fun! We had beautiful weather for all of our events!
Goodbye and good luck to our incredible 5th grade class! You will all do great at Shepard!

RETIREMENT, BABIES, AND GOODBYE FOR THE SUMMER!
This past week, the PTO provided gift cards for all non-classroom staff and celebrated Mrs Sexton’s baby girl on the way with a book and gift card. The PTO also gave Mrs Kerner a book mark and gift card for her retirement from Walden. Thank you Mrs. Kerner!
