Photo Sharing on Hallway Screens
Photos tell our story at BSE. Please share your photos of our BSE learners on the hallway screens. It is simple to do.
Come see me to be invited to the iCloud Photo Sharing and to discover how simple it is. (It takes ONE minute.)
Preschool Library Visits and K-4 Peers
Are you interested in your class being buddies with a preschool class during their weekly library visits. Then sign up for a date and time. This is open to ALL kindergarten through fourth grade classes. Do not sign up as a weekly commitment. Please allow for all classes to participate if desired.
Simply choose a date and time, sign up, and head down to the library to join preschoolers for their library visit. I will read a story. Then preschoolers and elementary friends will spend time reading books or even putting on puppet shows. Before departure, preschoolers will choose a book to take home and enjoy and bring back the next week.
Please bookmark this link to sign up.

Flipgrid
What is Flipgrid? What does it do?
- empowers learners to be creative
- amplifies student voice
- opens opportunities to learn from each other and the world
It is simple to create an account with accessibility through Microsoft. If you would like help, I am happy to help. And it is FREE, thanks to Microsoft.
BSE Bears can post book recommendations via the Flipgrid I have already created which I will be sharing with students during the month of September during Weekly Library Visits.
BrainPop, BrainPop Jr., and BrainPopELL
As of January 2018, the district picked up a BrainPop subscription (including BrainPop Jr and BrainPop ELL). BrainPop is a video library that uses animated videos to explain topics in a wide variety of subject areas and is available to both staff and students
It is accessible through Clever.
To begin, go to www.brainpop.com and in the top right click on the link to “Enter Code”. Please use the educator code below to create an account. Please note, this code is specific to our school and should not be shared with students.
School: Brooks School
Educator Code: IMTH4419
Once you create your account, you can create a class (or several classes) and create a class code for your students to use to access BrainPop.
An introduction to BrainPop can be accessed here: https://educators.brainpop.com/new-subscribers/explore-brainpop/
Notice & Note Fiction and Nonfiction Signposts and Essential Questions
If you are interested in co-teaching, let me know.
If you need texts, I am here to help. Also, feel free to help yourself to borrow texts from the Signpost Library in my office. The sign out sheet is hanging above it. Titles are added regularly....as fast as I find them.

What is this all about?
Reading is Thinking
Walk and Talk...Plain and Simple (8-8:30 am)
If you are interested in getting a daily dose of walking, come meet in the Collaboratory any morning at 8:00 to walk and talk. Weather permitting, we will walk outside-laps around the school or even down to the park and back. In inclement weather, we will walk the halls. It is a great way to get in steps, cardio, and meet and learn colleagues.
Begins Monday, September 10th.
