FANTASY PLAYHOUSE ACTING CLASSES MEET ON TUESDAYS
FANTASY PLAYHOUSE ACTING CLASSES
WHEN: Tuesday afternoons 2:50-3:50pm beginning February 4 and ending on March 24

The classes focus on developing the Actor's Tool Box (Body, Voice, Mind, and Imagination) that inspires creativity and builds self-confidence. For 8 weeks, students will be divided into age appropriate classes and meet after school one day a week for an hour. We will explore elements of theatre that are developmentally appropriate and engaging. On the final day of class, students will apply their skills in an informal sharing for family and friends. Class size is limited. Final Class Sharing is at Riverton Elementary.

HUNTSVILLE STEAMWORKS ECO-EXPLORER CLUB MEETS ON WEDNESDAYS
**Begins this Wednesday!**
Huntsville STEAM Works ECO-EXPLORER CLUB
In this club, young students in grades K-2 will explore all kinds of ecosystems! Each week, kids will participate in hands-on activities and games as they learn about different ecosystems: Aquatic, Desert, Tundra, and Tropical Rainforest and Temperate Forest. Students will learn about terrain, habitats, and how plants and animals are sustained by their environments; we may even get to enjoy a critter encounter or two!

WHEN: Wednesdays 2:45-3:45, Beginning January 8, 2020 and Ending March 25, 2020

This club is for students in grades P-3 and will take place at RES on Thursdays.

HUNTSVILLE STEAMWORKS SURVIVOR CLUB MEETS ON FRIDAYS
**Begins this Friday!!**
Huntsville STEAM Works SURVIVOR CLUB
Do you have what it takes to survive? What's the best way to get information when you can't use cell phones or the internet? How do you cook without electricity? How can you use what you know about science to protect yourself from extremes of heat and cold and keep yourself healthy and comfortable? What kind of technology is available to help people affected by natural disasters?
In this course, 3rd grade students will be introduced to a variety of survival skills! Fun hands-on activities and games each day will help campers learn how to become survivors!

WHEN: Starting Friday, January 10th 2:45-3:45 (meetings on Fridays) Ending Friday, March 27th

Permanent Announcements
Lost and Found is located near the gym.
INOW: Please make sure all of your information is up to date in INOW. If you have moved or changed phone numbers, please let the front office know. Sometimes we experience difficulty trying to contact parents due to disconnected or new phone numbers.
Car Riders: Please drop students off before 7:45 AM in the car rider line. Otherwise, you will need to check your child in at the front office. Students should not be dropped off at the front office before 7:45 AM.
Breakfast: Breakfast is provided until 7:40. Students must arrive before 7:40 to have time to eat breakfast and be in class on time.
Check outs: Students cannot be checked out after 2:30 PM.
If a student checks out before half of the school day is complete, then it will be considered a full day absence.
Chronic Absenteeism: The Alabama State Department of Education defines Chronic Absenteeism as 15 or more absences -- excused or unexcused. The number of students who are chronically absent in a given school year will impact our school's state report grade. If you are have difficulty getting your child to school for any reason, please reach out and contact an administrator or our social worker.
