Second Grade Newsletter

By Miss Gonzales

Message to Parents,

My name is Miss. Gonzales and I am a second grade teacher here at Cougar Elementary School! I graduated from the University of Houston with a Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education. I am excited about working here at Cougar Elementary with my second grade students. I love teaching second grade because students are becoming independent learners more and more and they love to ask question about anything and everything. I hope this Monthly newsletter will keep you informed about what is going on in our classroom and activities at the school. If you ever have any other questions please feel free to email me at

Social Studies Project

This month we are starting a new Social Studies project that includes computers. We are letting the children research about a famous person in history! We have been talking to students about all kinds of people who have made a big impact on our country! We have only started researching some famous people but the students need to pick a historical figure before the end of the month for their project! Please make time to speak to your child about this project and who they might want to do their project on!

Class Rules Update!

This is a reminder to students and parents that students are not allowed to bring technology into the classroom! Cougar Elementary provides the students with technology for everyday use and students should not bring technology that the school is not responsible for. Please leave these devices at home so that they will not get lost or stolen!

This notice does also include cellphones if you need to get in touch with your child please feel free to call the office at any point during the day. These devices can be distracting in the classroom!

Thank you for your cooperation!
