Here's what's happening in MS this week!

Dear parents,
Please continue to check power school since we are nearing the end of the second quarter and first semester.
SOCIAL STUDIES
6th Grade: Ancient Egypt projects were due November 30th. Anything turned in this week will not receive full credit, but will be accepted. We will have a test over Ancient Egypt this week, before we move on to the Indus Valley to learn about Ancient India.

MATH
6th Grade: We will be reviewing for a quiz on adding, subtracting, and dividing decimals. Next we will focus on multiplying using decimals. Check power school for any missing assignments.
7th Grade: We will be reviewing for a quiz on finding percents and discounts. We will continue focusing on percents and how they are useful in real life applications. Check power school for any missing assignments.
8th Grade: Students had a quiz last week and any retakes should happen this week. This week we are moving into discussing functions and how to use rules to solve algebra problems. Any retakes/corrections should happen this week.
SCIENCE
6th Grade: We are researching invasive and endangered species in the Great Lakes region. Students will be sharing their research this week. We have also been discussing threats to ecosystems and what humans can do to prevent damage. We will be reviewing for a test on Ecosystems and Biodiversity.
7th Grade: We have been investigating key indicators of climate change as well as looking at vulnerable habitats in Michigan such as wetlands. We will begin our research to prepare for a debate about climate change.
8th Grade: We are finishing up our unit on plate tectonics and continental drift. We have been making models of faults, plate boundaries and the layers that make up the interior of the Earth. We will also be plotting earthquake and volcanic action on a map. The quiz on plate tectonics will be mid-week.
ART
7th Grade: We will be working on colored pencils and texture of fur and feather animals for the week.
