Welcome Parents and 6th Graders!
Getting to know the Teacher
I just wanted to inform all of you that I will be in Mrs. Clermont's social studies classroom on Tuesday's 5th, 6th, and 7th hour. First off, I would like to tell you a little bit about myself. I am a senior at UWGB and next fall I will be student teaching. I will be licensed to teach ages 0 through 13, so birth all the way up to 8th grade. I am 24 years old and I graduated from Preble High in 2008. I am the youngest of three with two older brothers. I also have a dog named Pepper. Pepper is a Chihuahua, Jack Russel mix. Some of my hobbies include, walking Pepper, running, playing volleyball, spending time with family and friends, and reading a good book. In the midst of all of my hobbies and going to school, I also work two jobs. I work at Festival Foods East and I work with autistic children through a company called Wisconsin Early Autism Project.
A Look into the Semester
This semester I am excited to be in Mrs. Clermont's 6th grade classroom! This is the first time I have been in a middle school classroom so even though I am very excited, at the same time I am a little nervous. I will be observing and helping out in the classroom as much as possible and in November, I will be teaching a unit for two weeks to each of the three classes. I believe students learn best in a fun and comfortable environment so my goal for the semester is to help the students enjoy what they're doing and make sure they feel comfortable while learning. I am thrilled to have been given this opportunity to be a part of the 6th graders learning and growth. i am hoping to learn a lot from the students and from myself this semester so I can grow to become a better educator.
