What is it?
Anorexia is an eating disorder causing people to obsess about weight and what they eat. Symptoms include below-average weight, depression, slow growth, hyperactivity, dehydration, and many others.
Treatment
Prescription drugs are offered to those diagnosed with this illness. Also, therapy can alter one's perspective on his/her own body, and therefore cure her poor mentality.
Statistics
Anorexia is estimated to occur in 0.9% to 4.3% of women and 0.2% to 0.3% of men in Western countries at some point in their life.[8] About 0.4% of young females are affected in a given year and it is estimate to occur ten times less commonly in males.
Other Common Eating Disorders
Bulimia is similar to Anorexia, as well as binge-eating and AFRID, another illness.
