A Peek at the Week

MAP Tests

We had such an exciting and productive week at school. Our kindergarten and first grade students completed their winter MAP tests. Thank you for sending your children to school well rested and prepared. Next week, our second - fifth grade students will be taking the winter MAP tests. We give students MAP tests to help us determine their instructional level as well as measure academic growth throughout the school year. MAP measures the areas of reading and mathematics.

Adler Planetarium Field Trip

On Monday, our kindergarten and first grade students went on a field trip to the Adler Planetarium! Kindergarten and first grade students have been learning about the solar system. The field trip to the planetarium was a wonderful way to culminate their lesson on space exploration.

Assumption Church Field Trip

On Thursday, our 2nd - 5th grade students had an amazing opportunity to go on a pilgrimage to the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church in Homer Glen. Students viewed the icon of St. John the Baptist which has been streaming myrrh since July. Father Sotiri, Assumption's priest, answered all of our questions as well as anointed all students. Father Sotiri gave all students myrrh to take home to their families as well as an icon of St. John the Baptist. This will be something our students will always remember and treasure. Following our church visit, students had a delicious lunch at Greek Islands Restaurant.

PCA Masquerade Gala - Saturday, February 20th

The Gala is fast approaching. Be sure to purchase your tickets before February 10th to receive a discount. We would love to see all of our PCA parents in attendance. The Gala is a wonderful event that raises funds to purchase all the necessary things our school needs. With the help of last year's Gala proceeds, we were able to purchase a brand new ELA curriculum and made it possible for all students in 1st - 5th grades to have their very own chrome books.

We rely on your support for a successful Gala.
