It's a great day to be a Leopard!

Lady Leopards Medal at State Powerlifting Meet

Over Spring Break, 5 Lady Leopards competed in the State Powerlifting Meet in Waco. Makela Manuel, Lupe Rodrigues, Itzel Gomez, Tramera Bynum, and Aaliyah Henry all earned advancement based on their performace at the Regional meet.

The State meet consisted of more than 200 girls from over 75 teams. The Lady Leopards had 3 out of the 5 earn top finishes in their respective weight class: Tramera (3rd), Aaliyah (4th), and Itzel (5th). We are all very proud of their accomplishments throughout the year and look forward to what they can accomplish in the future!

OAP Advances to Area!

The GHS One Act Play competed at District on March 9 and earned advancement to the Bi-District contest which was held on March 19. Once again, the outstanding performance received tremendous individual and group accolades, and they earned advancement to the Area contest which will be held on April 6 in Grand Prairie.

District contest awards:

All Star Cast: Jade Conner and the Women of Troy: Harmony Rutherford, Erika Kitundu, Faith Williams, Alex Stockwell, Lauren Fleniken and Whitney Dosher

GHS FFA Competes

This week, Gainesville FFA CDE Teams competed in contests at Northwest ISD, Decatur, and Tarleton State University. Thousands of students across the state of Texas travelled to compete.
Within our district, we received the following placings:
Milk Quality - 1st at Northwest; 2nd at Decatur
Poultry Judging - 3rd at Northwest and Decatur
Vet Science - 2nd at Northwest; 3rd at Decatur
Floriculture - 2nd at Northwest and Decatur
Horse Judging - 5th at Tarleton

Edison Art Contest Winners

Congratulations to the winners of The Gainesville Texas Travel Information Center Art Contest. Kindergarten and 1st graders created art in Mrs. Linnell’s Art Class that was then submitted to the Travel Center for judging.
