PARCC Update
I was actively involved in PARCC testing this week as I worked with grade 4 students. PARCC testing went smoothly. We had a minor flaw in our schedule on Wednesday that impacted 6th grade. That scheduling error was my fault. I should have moved 6th grade to test in the afternoon. Other than my own scheduling error, the technology side of PARCC testing revealed zero complications. The test itself didn't seem to stress students out. The practice tests appeared to parallel the actual test (http://parcc.pearson.com/practice-tests/). Our students will take the math test sessions next week.
Students in grades 3 - 6 will take the End of Year PARCC assessment in May. Interested folks can use the link provided here to take the "EOY Practice Test, Computer-based Practice Test."
I am not sure when we will get the results of the PARCC assessment, however, we will use the information to triangulate other information that describes student learning.
