Attribute of the Learning Profile is to be: Communicators
!! This is a phenomenal achievement that very few schools tried in fact very few schools manage to obtain such recognition. What an honor it has been to join such a committed group of educators and families!
This is the first second monthly newsletter to be shared, our goal is to continue the IB Programming as a personal and role model, the attributes of the learning profile that we highlight for our students. This newsletter should communicate some of the best things that happen on campus, share the necessary information about our approach for the coming weeks and be a resource to distribute information about upcoming events. An inquiry into four seasons
An inquiry into weather patterns
An inquiry into animal behaviors
1st Grade
People have different types of homes in a variety of places for certain reasons.
Lines of Inquiry:
The types of different building materials for our homes. (form)
The similarities and differences of the features and design of homes from around the world (connection).
The reasons homes are made from different materials, and designed in different ways (causation).
2nd Grade-Sharing the Planet
Lines of Inquiry:
- An inquiry into meteorology
- An inquiry into weather variations according to different regions of the world.
- An inquiry into how weather influences where we live and how we live.
3rd Grade-Sharing the Planet
Central Idea: The position of the Earth may determine the relationship humans have with the planet.
Lines of Inquiry:
How does the location of countries affect its residents?
Does a country’s proximity to the equator affect humans?
If the Earth was in a different location in the solar system, what would happen and why?
4th Grade- How We Express Ourselves
Central Idea: Various mediums are used to express ideas.
Lines of Inquiry:
- understanding the different categories of text.
- different perspectives lead to different interpretations.
- our writing helps us express our experiences..
5th Grade-Sharing the Planet
Lines of Inquiry:
- An inquiry into the belief systems that can define a community, area, region, or country
- An inquiry into Belief systems that can lead to conflict
- An inquiry into Society and governments that can change due to belief systems
