When He Comes

Palm Sunday is this week and I am thinking of the people who welcomed Jesus into town . . . the very same who watched Him crucified not a week later. Often I feel like one of those townsfolks. I feel God's presence, I wash up, present myself, praise Him, and delight in His company. Then a moment later I am back in a place of shame and regret.
My prayer today I copy from My Heart - Christ's Home, by Robert Munger. "Lord, I want this heart of mine to be yours. I want you to settle down here and be fully at home. I want you to use it as your own. . . ." I want a lifestyle of praise and worship, like the people on Palm Sunday 2000 years ago. I want Christ to be my greatest joy!! But every day, not just once a week on Sundays.
Praying for you all to receive Christ's joy today. God bless!

Lesson 27:

"M" is for Merciful:

The LORD is gracious and merciful, slow to anger and great in lovingkindness.

Psalm 145:8

Students read the story of the prodigal son and through the story discuss this attribute of God which shows his kindness and forgiveness. Since we are all unrighteous, God is not under any obligation to award His favor to us. His grace and mercy are free gifts that He extends to those whom He loves and calls.

9:00 Third-Fifth Grade

Spring Lesson 26:

To Be Like Jesus: "Forgiving Others"

We have all wronged God immeasurably because of our sin God is forgiving to all those who are trusting in Jesus alone Christians are to forgive others as Jesus has forgiven them. In this, students read from Matthew 18 where Peter asks Jesus how often we are to forgive others. Jesus shows Peter that he was asking the wrong question. We should not be keeping track of how many times we have forgiven people - that is not true forgiveness. True forgiveness does not keep a count of what others have done against us. Learn why this Sunday!!

Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you. Ephesians 4:32

9:00 Practical Theology & Apologetics

Are Mormons Christians? Last week there were some questions about faith and specifically the Mormon religion. This week we will be looking at their faith and answer the question of whether Mormons are Christians.

Jesus, What a Savior: "Jesus Seeks for Lost Sinners"

  • People are like lost sheep
  • Jesus seeks after individuals
  • Jesus delights in saving sinners

For the Son of man came to seek and save what was lost.

Luke 19:10
