The Rotary Club of Glen Ellyn
Friendliest Club in Rotary
July 24, 2020
It’s going to be a different, but exciting year for the Rotary Club of Glen Ellyn. There are endless opportunities to serve the community and the world during these difficult times caused by the pandemic. Yesterday at the first Club Board meeting and the Foundation Board meeting, ideas were generated and commitments made to support our fundraising efforts, new community projects, scholarships and grants, as well as organizing and updating our processes.
I look forward to “seeing” you all on zoom or in-person (when safe) each week. I know it’s different to be online, but please continue to hang in there with us and connect via zoom. I am hoping we can start a hybrid of in-person and online meetings soon.
Take good care.

Strategic Planning for 2020/21 Part 2
Last month, the club held a listening session as a start to planning for the 2020/21 year. Part 2 of this planning will take place on Thursday, July 30 during our regular meeting at noon. The session will be led by our own GE Rotarian and professional facilitator Erica Nelson. All members are encouraged to participate! We want to hear all voices as we plan our focus during this important and uncertain time.
Board Meeting and Foundation Board Meeting
The next Rotary Board meetings will take place on Thursday, August 27.
The Club Board will meet at 11 a.m. and the Foundation Board will meet at 11:30 a.m.
The meetings will be held by zoom unless otherwise noted.
Nominations are open for the position of District Governor, serving the one-year term beginning July 1, 2023. The Nominating Committee will meet on September 14th to select a Rotarian to fill this important position. The nomination form, instructions, and supporting documents are available on the District's website (and by clicking here). Submissions must be received not later than midnight, September 7th.
