Reading our way to the Turkey Trot!
The students at Eli Whitney have officially begun their challenge to make it to the Turkey Trot!
Our school goal is to complete
iReady Reading lessons by November 18th!
Click on the link above for more details!
Updates from the Reading Department!
- To follow up on our assembly!
Starting this week through Nov 17th, we will be tracking the lessons passed on the Reading Path for iReady. Our school goal is 1,000 lessons. For every 100 lessons, we will add a feather to the turkey in the main hall. If we pass 1,000 lessons, 2 individuals from this school will be dressing up like turkeys and leading us on a “trot” around the school on Friday 11/18.
Additionally, we will check if your class has 100% participation each week. If they do, we will be dropping off a small prize for each student.
Please encourage students to work on their Reading Path!
- November 7-11 is Children’s Book Week. The theme is How Do You Book. A flyer went home Friday encouraging students to bring in a picture of themselves reading at home. They can also have a parent email it in to us, my email was on the flyer. If you would be willing to send a picture of yourself so we can add school staff, that would be awesome!
- Wednesday, November 16 we will be having a Literacy Night from 4:30-6. Kate has announced it in her newsletter and an RSVP will be going home this Friday.
Reach out with questions,
