Columbus Scioto 6-12 Vision Statement

Columbus Scioto 6-12 school will focus collaborative efforts moving toward collective responsibility in developing instruction, safety as a priority, and using a trauma informed care approach to positively increase the overall school climate.

Transportation Info Uploaded

  • School starts in person for Columbus City Schools for scholars in grades 1-12 on Monday, August 29th. If your child is transportation eligible and has not received their transportation information, please check your Parent Portal.

    If you need assistance with Parent Portal, please email a photo id along with your child’s name and date of birth to parentportalaccess@columbus.k12.oh.us.

    If you need additional assistance with transportation, please call 614-365-5074.



Guide to Student Success

The 2022-23 Guide to Student Success is now available. It contains important information designed to help assist students to have a successful year. Parents should check the Parent Portal for important forms to be filled out and returned to their respective school administrator.

Free School Clothes from Charity Newsies

Charity Newsies’ mission supports proving clothing to children in need in Franklin County.

Clothing applications are available on-line only. Applications will be accepted through 2:00pm on Friday, Dec 3, 2022. In-person applications are no longer available at our headquarters or any of the public libraries as in previous years.


Clothing Packets will consist of one winter coat, knit hat and gloves, 3 pairs of pants, 3 shirts, 6 pairs of socks and underwear. All clothing will conform with the published uniform and/or dress code policy of each child’s school. For schools that allow a uniform only, a uniform voucher will be provided in lieu of the shirts and pants, as applicable.

Reminders - Don't Forget

Parent Portal Annual Update

If you haven't completed your annual update, the Parent Portal is where you do that.

ALL families need to complete the annual update on the Parent Portal. THANK YOU SO MUCH!

1- Go to the Parent Portal on the CCS Website: https://www.ccsoh.us/Page/2437
2- From the menu on the left side click on Parent Portal Existing User Login
3- Look for the menu on the left side of the screen ( if the menu is not visible click on the three black bars (hamburger menu) at the top left corner.

4-On the drop-down menu that appears click "More".

5-Towards the bottom of the list that appears click on "Annual Update".

6- At the bottom of the screen click on "Begin Annual Update"

7-Follow the step-by-step instructions. You will receive a confirmation email after completion.

Notify the Office for Absences To Be Excused

Remember to notify the office when your child is unable to attend school during scheduled school days.

  • The best way to report an absence is to email attendance.colscioto@columbus.k12.oh.us (preferred).
  • Please email every day your child is absent to ensure a complete record. Include any doctor's school excuse notes if you seek medical help.
  • If you prefer to call, call 1-380-997-0244 and leave a message. Avoid calling the main school line - it's extremely busy in the mornings! Leaving a detailed message is acceptable.

Upcoming Virtual Family Engagement Session:

CCS hosts weekly Zoom sessions addressing the most pressing topics and answering the most common questions families have. Called Virtual Family Engagement Sessions, these sessions are hosted by the Department of Communications and Engagement and feature expert District staff and many of our community partners sharing information and insights on important topics.
