Highlight of Healthcare Professions Industry Experiences
Healthcare professions students at DTEC have built-in clinical and industry experiences in their classes -- EMT students go on ambulance ride-alongs, CNA students gain experience in long-term care facilities and hospitals, and Dental students attend weekly job shadows in local dentist offices. These experiences are an invaluable peek into the day-to-day realities of the jobs, and a vital step to helping students decide if and how they want to continue in the healthcare field after high school.
Below is a written summary from Dental Assisting student Karmelle as she reflects upon the experiences of her previous week's job shadow in a local dentist office. Enjoy hearing directly from our wonderful students!
