Newsletter Week 4 Term 4
Golden Sands School Tuesday 8 November 2022
PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Tēnā koutou e te whānau
A big thank you to all of those who supported Gumboot Day on Friday. Gumboot Day raises awareness for mental health and provides funding for counselling. Thank you for supporting this fantastic cause.
Hats
A reminder that it is compulsory for all tamariki to be wearing a hat when outside. Please ensure that your child has their hat with them at all times and that they have put sunscreen on in the morning.
After Hours
It has come to our attention that a number of children are using the grounds unsupervised after school. Please ensure that your child is supervised after school. We have had some incidents recently and we would like to ensure that this does not continue. Many thanks for your help.
2023
We are currently making the classes for 2023. If you are intending on moving out of the area and/or will not be with us next year, can you please let us know as soon as possible. You can email Kirsty Hudson khudson@goldensands.school.nz
Year 6 enrolments at College
If your child is a year 6 please make sure that you have enrolled them at their new school next year. They will also be making classes so it is important to get your child’s information to them as soon as possible.
2023 Enrolments
If you or anyone you know are intending on enrolling their children to start Golden Sands
School next year, please contact the office to get an enrolment pack. We would love all enrolments for next year to be in at the beginning of term 4 so that we can staff appropriately.
Out of Zone Places for 2023
For 2023, we have 20 out of zone places for Year 0 -2. Please contact the office if you are interested. Applications for these places will close on November 20.
PB4L
This week’s focus is Keeping safe coming to and from school. The key ideas we will be working on are
I will cross the road at the designated area
I can wear a helmet correctly when scootering or biking to school
I can count on myself and others can count on me too before, during and after school
I will do my best to always keep myself and others safe
I will do the right thing at the right time
Have a great week everyone!
