HOLY ROSARY SCHOOL
NEWSLETTER | TERM 2 | WEEK 1 | 28 APRIL 2023

😊 We are so happy to be back at school! Lots of smiles in Pre-Kindy😊

Greetings Everyone
Welcome to week one of term two! It was fabulous to see so many children racing in ready to embrace the journey this term. Term dates went to you last week. We all look forward to a solid term of teaching and learning, and fun.
Kindy 2025 interviews commenced this week and will be completed by the end of this term. It is wonderful to see so many new families expressing interest in our lovely school. All are well informed, and most have been on a whole school tour with Kath. They have a sense of place and purpose, and they like what they see. Added to that is the advice that they have been given by current and former families to explore Holy Rosary as an option. We never take that support for granted, thank you so much.
Enjoy the weekend.

Staffing Update
Farewell Julie Catherall! After ten fantastic years, Julie is leaving us today to explore new pastures in one of our northern suburbs schools. Julie is a wonderful, capable assistant who has worked with our Siena children, but her presence has been evident in many areas across our school, particularly in the sporting arena, where her commitment to training our children has been so valuable. Julie, we are sad to be farewelling you, but at the same time we wish you every happiness and every success for your next adventure. May you be richly blessed!
Welcome Claudia McMahon! Claudia is known to many of us as one of the team at Discovery Kids. At the same time Claudia also has worked in schools as a support teacher assistant, and knows the responsibilities well. We are so pleased to be welcoming you to our Siena team Claudia!
Winter Uniform
Starts now! Please ensure your charges are in complete and correct winter school uniform, details of which can be found below. We have had some supply issues in the past (Covid related of course!) but that has largely been addressed successfully.
I appreciate the support of every parent and guardian who understands that wearing correct uniform says a lot about our school and our standards. I also appreciate parents and guardians who understand that it is more important for teachers to be teaching their children, than ‘enforcing’ the uniform policy. It is the responsibility of the home to ensure children wear correct uniform and for that understanding we thank you.
Regular Appointments
Thanks in advance.

Welcome back to Term 2. The Scholastic Book Fair is on in the library in week 3. Students will be able to visit the Fair to complete wish lists on Wednesday 10th with their teachers. The Book Fair will be open for sales on Thursday 11th and Friday 12th May. Students will be able to use cash on the day or parents can purchase the books online at home and send the receipt in with their child to collect the books. We will have an EFT machine available for parents to use before and after school if required. As per previous years, the Fair will be open at different times to reduce the number of people in the library. Please see below for opening times. There will be no library book borrowing in week 3. We always receive a great number of free books and some extra funding as a result of the book fair and we are grateful for your support.
