The 9 week progress report grades have been posted by all teachers in Infinite Campus. Please review your student's progress and discuss their plan for success regularly.

RMSST Reads: The 1,000 Book Challenge
- First class to 1,000 earns a popsicle dance party.
- Class with largest number of books read by April wins prize.
Who is in the lead as we kick-off?
- 11th grade is in first place for the students BUT the faculty & staff are leading with 108 books read!

Furman, Georgia Tech, & Brown will visit next week!
See the list below for colleges who are set to come on campus and recruit students. All RMSST college visits occur during 5th lunch from 1:03PM - 1:30 PM. Students in class at RCHS or in need of grabbing a lunch are able obtain a pass from Ms. Harris, Ms. Lindsey, or Ms. Kabance in the front office prior to 3rd block the day of any visit.

Monday 10/16- Furman University
Tuesday 10/17- Georgia Tech and Brown University
These are information sessions that provide benefits to all 9th-12th graders. As such, Mrs. Baskett has set the expectations below for each student's participation:
- 9th graders- Attend 1 or more
- 10th graders- Attend 2 or more
- 11th graders- Attend at least 5 or as many as your schedule allows
- 12th graders- Attend at least 5 AND for every college already on your list
Students who meet the expectations by December will be entered in a raffle for 4 gift cards. Students will get a choice in what gift cards are raffled through the sign in form at each session.
Note that students are responsible for any worked missed due to attending a college visit should they not have 5th lunch. Quizzes and tests should take priority.

Celebrating Distinction at RMSST
Student Council is headed to the Southern Association of Student Councils Conference
Safe travels and good luck to our Student Council members and Mrs. Powell as they travel to South Carolina this weekend for the Southern Association of Student Councils Conference. They will be competing for project and leadership awards as well as presenting their great strategies to other Student Councils from across the southern United States.
Mrs. Baskett featured in NCSSS STEM Spotlight
The National Consortium of Secondary STEM Schools (NCSSS) recently highlighted a presentation that Mrs. Baskett will be giving at their Professional Conference this November titled "Boost School Success with Agile". You can read more at the NCSSS website using this link.
RMSST has been a member of NCSSS for many years. The NCSSS vision is to serve as the resource for secondary STEM schools by supporting collaboration and knowledge sharing and providing professional development for teachers and administrators to positively impact student achievement in authentic STEM educational environments.

Seniors, If you didn't take pictures on October 10 at RCHS, you will need to go to one of four Cady Studios locations. All senior portraits must be taken by October 31 to guarantee inclusion in the senior section of the yearbook. Schedule your pictures today at home.cady.com
Senior ad space is still available. Get yours before it sells out!
Yearbook make-up picture day for all 9th-11th graders is October 19 from 8:15am-1:00pm in the auditorium. All underclassmen who missed pictures earlier in September need to plan on taking pictures on this day.
